Designer Aurélien Veyrat of Objet Optimisé, has created the L Shelf. Made from either bent birch or walnut, it requires no glue or screws to assemble.
The description from the designer:
L is a single module, a piece of bentwood, the logical result of the meeting with a carpentry workshop specialized in bending wood.
Its genesis lies upstream from the industrial production : rather than generating a new complex shape to be implemented with the creation of a new mould, L is the result of a simple but optimized bending.
It diverts with sophistication the chosen shape for the making of an arm rest or a seat.
L is playful and adapts. L is to storage what stone is to building : the original element, the basis of creation and the expression of modularity. Whatever your needs, L is the comma that punctuates space without limitation.
