BDA Architecture have designed the Miami Hill Residence, a home for a family located on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia.
Description from BDA Architects
The Residence rests on a unique sloping site at Brakes Crescent, Miami Hill on the Gold Coast. The dramatic site and its context presented an opportunity to create a dynamic built form that offered the owners a unique, secure and comfortable living environment as well as value adding to the existing built environment and public space that it neighbours.
In response to the clients brief and context a built form emerged that made way for a dramatic addition to the hillside streetscape. The building is composed into a composition of simple frames and planes of glass and overlapping walls of different materials. The use of off form concrete to the underside of the ‘cantilevered box’ creates a beautiful texture to this bold form and approach to the buildings entry.
