Commissioned by Texas Tech University to design a permanent sculpture in Lubbock, Texas, MARC FORNES / THEVERYMANY has created the Zephyr Pavilion, a windswept canopy that offers a shaded passage through the courtyard of the Honors Residence Hall.

Four densely striped columns expand into bridging arcs, that embrace the cross-campus traffic, pulling the paths into the pavilion.

The hollow-bodied structure is made from two layers of 3mm aluminum, with a linear cut distance of 7,400 meters.

Overall, there are 2,343 individual parts that make up the form, that are held together by 59,216 rivets.
