Taiwanese designer Laurel Hwang, has created Plier, a multi-purpose piece of furniture designed for open spaces.
Upon first glance, it appears as a simple room divider or workplace partition, with a perforated translucent pattern panel forming a spatial boundary.
The metal room divider has a hidden function, in that it can be folded with the help of help of hydraulic pistons that are within telescopic rods, allowing the piece to transform between a screen and bar table with ease.
Once Plier has been folded into place, it becomes a bar table that can be a social area for 6-8 people to gather around.
