British designer Ben Rousseau has launched his latest furniture collection that pays tribute to the original 1968 bubble chair by Eero Aarnio.
Ben mentions, “I always loved the original by Aarnio, because it is such an iconic 60s design and yet it has never dated. Bubble Chairs look as good by the side of a pool or hanging from a tree as they do within contemporary apartments or town houses.”
With this in mind, Ben gave the chair his own reinterpretation, that includes a specially engineered steel ring containing LEDs, so that the Bubble Chair could be illuminated as an engraved artwork.
Ben’s design allows two people to sit together comfortably with hanging or standing configurations, be illuminated or plain in a variety of colors and finishes, and the cushion can be customised in with fabric or automotive quilted leather.
