We don’t often see window seats added to a window as an addition, but that’s exactly what Muxin Design did when they designed this office in Shanghai, China.
They designed a wood window surround to use the space against the wall for seating. They also incorporated storage in the design at the same time.
The design of the window seat is such that the wood ‘boxes’ appear to float in front of the windows, providing a space for sitting and relaxing. There’s also enough space to easily walk past without having to squeeze through the opening to the room.
The window seats are strong and wide enough to enable two people to sit and take a break while looking outside.
