Interior design firm INDOT has designed an apartment interior in Taiwan featuring a bold collection of 12 black poles that travel from the living room up to the high ceiling.
The black poles have a few functions. The first is to provide a place to mount the television in the living room. By mounting the black television with the poles as a backdrop, it doesn’t stand out as much as it would if it was mounted directly to the white wall.
The second function is to provide a safety barrier for the stairs, replacing the need for a handrail on the higher section.
The third feature of the vertical poles is to draw attention to the double-height ceiling.
