Seattle-based interior design firm ULLEstudio, has recently completed the renovation of a living room and dining room.
They were asked by their clients to transform a dark and outdated space into a practical, warm, and cozy space for a young family of three.
They achieved this by replacing the combined carpet and wood floors, to have a lighter wood floor throughout, while the dark grey paint was repainted in a much lighter color, making the space feel more open and bright.
The fireplace surround was replaced and now travels from the floor to the ceiling, and includes a hearth, and a recessed space for the television.
The contrasting fireplace hearth wraps around the fireplace and provides a surface for a new custom-designed wood cabinet to rest on, while below the cabinet is a small space for firewood storage.
Adjacent to the living room is the dining area, where a modern wood table and light grey chairs are complemented by a bespoke art piece painted by ULLEstudio’s team member, Helen.
