Scottish designer Kyla McCallum has created ‘Fold’, a modern pendant light whose design has been inspired by the crisp folds of origami.
Designed for Norwegian brand Northern and launched at the recent Stockholm Furniture Fair, the light has a shade made from wool fabric that’s been treated with a lamination process and is supported by an inner structure to hold its shape.

The wool that lamp is made from also has acoustic properties that help to dampen ambient sound and absorb noise, and it can be tilted to one side to deflect the light in the opposite direction, creating a simple way to direct light or darken part of the room.
