Interior architecture firm, Studio Tate and branding agency, Pop & Pac, have teamed up with the people from Middletown Cafe to bring to life a contemporary cafe in Melbourne, Australia, that’s been inspired by the elegant style of the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton.

Contemporary-meets-classic in the design of the cafe, and intricate details and finishes pay homage to Kate’s journey from the English countryside to Kensington Palace.

Throughout the cafe, perforated timber mouldings create visual interest, while clean lines and soft lighting create a relaxed atmosphere, and royal blue ties the entire space together.

Small stone tiles cover the front of the serving area that’s topped with a stone countertop and glass food display case.

There’s plenty of seating in the cafe, like this tall table that’s surrounded by stools and has a metallic trim.

Above the table is a delicate and sculptural pendant light, and beside it framed textured glass windows hide the kitchen from the main area of the cafe

The cafe has been softened with the use of feminine details such as accents of brass, pastel furnishings and pale timber.

The designers used Terrazzo flooring in the cafe and it has been laid in a traditional checkerboard pattern for added interest.
