Description

Mario Alessiani Design presents his latest project: Bloemi, a lamp that has allowed the young designer to win the contest “Suspended”, organized by Formabilio, and finally in production.

The company is a startup that looks to ethical business and thanks to a short manufacturing chain (designer, manufacturer, customer) aims to valorise designers and small Italian craft firms.

The proposal Mario Alessiani has done moves from these elements which led him to undestand the company philosophy and analyze craft process, in order to face well the challange.

The final product is a combination of just three elements: lacquered wood, recycled fabric and polyurethane foam.

Iconographically inspired by tulips, The designer reproduces the slight roundness of the petals through the padding of the panels of the lampshade, slightly overlapped with each another. Also the materials choices have been done to donate a natural aspect to the object.

The name Bloemi, comes from the Dutch word “bloem” that means “flower”.
