A multi-functional backyard shed was included in a landscape project by SHED Architecture & Design.
The backyard shed with an S-shaped layout has an exterior of weathered steel and Ipe wood, giving it a contemporary appearance that complements the surrounding garden fence.
On the side closest to the yard, a large section of the wood exterior slides open to reveal a potting room. Inside, there’s plenty of shelving, lighting, and a potting bench with a sink.
On the side of the shed that faces the street, there’s a storage room that opens the same way as the potting room. The storage space has enough room for bikes and paddles, as well as a couple of shelves.
The backyard shed also has a green roof that’s framed by the weathering steel, and can be seen from the upper story windows of the nearby house.
