Originally purchased as a beach shack, the home owners wanted to renovate the building into a modern beach cottage, so they turned to Patrick R. Jones of Ramsey Jones Architects, to make it happen.

Located on the shore of Lake Michigan in Wisconsin, the new beach cottage had to be raised onto higher land, as the original structure was built at lake level on a floodplain and was susceptible to flooding.

From the entrance of the cottage, you get a glimpse of the lake beyond, but it isn’t until you enter through, that you can see the full lake view.

The covered opening separates the bunkhouse from the main cottage, providing guests with a quiet getaway.

Large 16 foot sliding glass panels are located on each side of the main living space, opening the front and back yards to the cottage.
