Architectural studio Arch&Type has shared photos of Blue Table Chocolates, a new retail chocolate store in Buffalo, New York.
Key to the intriguing interior design is the custom parametric ceiling tiles that were inspired by an image of golden, silky, and flowing untempered chocolate.
The material palette of the storefront includes gold, white oak, mirrored dishes, and white marble concrete. A vignette showcases the mirrored displays and magnetic labels.
The ceiling was created by the design team who digitally modeled the sculptural ceiling and created it by using CNC-milled, hand-assembled, painted pieces.
The sculptural accent ceiling continues through from the retail side of the store to the chocolate workshop space.
Other design elements include a frameless lime plaster door with a brass base and recessed white oak millwork in the form of shelving with LED lighting.
The custom white oak millwork continues to the chocolate workshop where a marble table slab with tenon details.
Here’s a look at the ceiling detail that shows how it was created in different panels, and the store’s floor plan.
