Sandra Tarruella Interioristas has designed several spaces throughout Hotel Chiqui, which is located in Santander, Spain.
One of the design elements that caught our eye, is a room that includes an interesting way of decorating the wall.
Instead of including a headboard and framed artwork, the designers installed wood lengths that allow fabric made from natural fibers to be hung from them.
The designers explain that these elements are, “reminiscent of the parasols used by beachgoers during the early 19th Century, and large rugs that hang over the bed.”
These chosen materials have been combined with warm colors and stone tones helping to achieve a subtle and elegant aesthetic.
Here’s a closer look at the fabrics, showing the different textures used.
Another idea for displaying art in a room is to use a simple picture rail that can hold frames of different sizes.
This idea enables the art pieces to changed out easily, creating unique collections whenever needed.
Here’s a look at more photos of the hotel that includes a roof deck infinity pool. Included in the outdoor space of the hotel are a cocktail area, a sun deck area, and outdoor showers.
The infinity pool is designed as a raised plinth with a 1.40m height so that the bottom line of the sea visually fades with the pool water.
The water overflows on all sides, to provide a seamless boundary between the seawater and the pool.
