Paul de Ruiter Architects, EeStairs, and Dutch artist Jakko Woudenberg, have collaborated to create an eye-catching atrium with a unique wood floor for Krinkels BV.
The new office, located in the Netherlands, has a large circular ground floor area with two flights of stairs that lead to the upper level. Dark and light wood on the floor and the stair-steps was installed to represent the growth-rings in a tree.
Following the curves of the atrium, the wood floor circles the monumental tree surrounding seating that’s centrally located, and extends outwards towards the green walls.
The close and precise work between EeStairs and Jakko Woudenberg ensured that the darker and lighter rings on the floor continue seamlessly up the risers and treads of the two staircases.
