Artist Manca Ahlin of Mantzalin, was commissioned by Etsy to create a collection of handmade rope installations for their new head office in Dumbo, New York.
With a background in lacemaking, product design, and architecture, Manca uses her skills to create large one-of-a-kind lace installations around the world.

Etsy approached Manca after seeing her work at Stix restaurant (you can see it here) in New York, and asked her to design three installations that would provide an element of privacy for their offices without blocking the light.

In keeping with the Etsy philosophy of creating a platform where people sell their handmade items, Manca used colorful natural fiber ropes purchased from Etsy sellers. All three of the screens were entirely handcrafted using only scissors, hammers, and nails.

Once at the office, the three pieces were installed inside meeting rooms against glass walls, so they could be seen from within the space and from the main office area.

The lace designs combine organic lines with star-shaped colorful accents.
