If you’re ever thinking about creating a full wall of shelves, then here’s an idea for you.
Seoul-based architect Yong Ju Lee has sent us photos of a project he recently completed that includes a wall full of birch plywood shelving.
When the architect renovated a community service center, he included a wall lined with slats of plywood. Each slat is positioned evenly on the wall, with the gap between each slat being the exact width of the shelf thickness.
By having the gap between the slats the perfect thickness, it allows the shelving to slot into the gap and stay there held under tension. Due to the way the shelves slot into the wall, it makes it easy to move the shelves when needed.
