Design firm 2B.group have sent us some images of a contemporary apartment renovation they designed for a couple and their dog in Kiev, Ukraine.
The architect’s description
Apartment owners – family of two and a dog – re-planned a 2-bedroom flat into a spacious studio filled with natural light and air for the most part of the day. Defending every square meter of the space, architects assigned functional zones in the most effective way.
Architects used only natural materials in a perfect mixture with steal, rusted elements and open concrete. Colors picked for furniture and textile elements supports the idea of open space, nature and light.
The motto of the project was making things simpler: aesthetic wires for self-made ceiling looked elegant on a painted light-grey concrete, two brick walls remained exposed, only polished.
Both in-built wardrobe sets occupied the whole wall therefore did not appear over-occupied and heavy in the room.
Apartment significant advantage – top-to-ceiling windows on the both sides allow sun light 20 hours a day, even reaching stone-cladded bathroom cube through a glass door.
