Here’s an easy idea for how to create a more unique flower arrangement when using a clear glass vase. If you wrap large leaves around the inside of the vase, you’ll hide the water and the stems and create a unique decor piece.
Let’s get started…
Step 1: Gather and clean your leaves
You’ll need to get some long leaves, we got a leaf that was stripey, but you could use whatever you like (or whatever you’re able to get at the florist). The size of your vase will help you decide how big your leaves need to be.
Step 2: Practice Curling The Leaves
Curl the leaves into a circle that’s slightly smaller than the inside of your vase.
Step 3: Line The Vase
Once you’ve curled a leaf, start filling up the vase. If you wrap the leaf somewhat tightly around your hand and then place it in the bottom of the vase, when you remove your hand, the leaf will naturally uncurl to the size of the vase.
Step 4: Stack Them Up
Continue wrapping and placing until your leaves fill the vase. Adjust the leaves as you go so that they’re all touching and you don’t have any open spaces.
Step 5: Pour In The Water
Once your happy with the placement of the leaves, it’s time to fill the vase with water. While you’re pouring in the water, chances are you’ll get a few air bubbles. To get rid of them stick your arm in the vase and slowly coax the bubble up or down to the closest leaf to let the air escape out into the rest of the water.
Step 6: Add Your Flowers
Arrange your flowers in whatever way you like. Be careful when adding the flowers as you don’t want the stems to poke or rip the leaves.
Step 7: Display for all to see
Place your vase up on a shelf or on a table to see your beautiful leaves and flowers!
