Ski slopes designed as part of building designs

When you look at as many architecture projects as we do, you start noticing some trends, and we’ve now seen three design proposals for buildings that all include ski slopes on them. As far as we know, none of them have been completed, but maybe soon we’ll be seeing these everywhere?

The most recent proposal is from a group of architects led by Shokhan Mataibekov, who have designed this housing complex in Astana, Kazakhstan, that has a ski slope on top.

Next, we have architecture firm BIG (Bjarke Engels Group), that designed Amager Bakke, a ski slope proposal for Copenhagen, Denmark.

Lastly, this design concept by Michael Jantzen, is a hotel he has named the “North Slope Ski Hotel”.
