Design brand Leanter have created a collection of lamps, inspired by giraffes.
The designer’s description
The inspiration for the shape of the Giffy table lamp came to me while looking at a photo that pictured giraffes standing majestically next to Acacia trees in a beautiful sunset of the savanna.
Giraffes are interesting animals and they represent very well the diversity that exists in our world. But of course it is not all about the looks. There is also a reason, a need for that peculiar shape of a giraffe, and the existence of both of these sides is what inspired me most in the process of creating the Giffy lamp – in that shape there is function working together with beauty.
