Architecture firm Workshop AD have designed the Golden View Residence in Anchorage, Alaska.
The architect’s description
This project involved the redesign and completion of a partially constructed house on the Upper Hillside in Anchorage.
Construction of the underlying steel structure had ceased for over five years resulting in significant technical and organizational issues that needed to be resolved in order for the home to be completed.
Perched above the landscape, the platform stretches across the hillside like an extended tree house. Interior and exterior surfaces are clad with walnut panels, natural stone, and concrete floors to create a distinct and varied experience of the Alaskan landscape.
