We’ve all seen quite a few pivoting doors making their way into contemporary homes over the last few years, however, this large pivoting glass door included in a small home in Phoenix, Arizona, designed by The Ranch Mine certainly caught our eye.
The 12-foot wide pivoting glass door is definitely a statement and helps to give this home a unique appearance. Reaching from the floor to the ceiling the metal-framed door seamlessly blends into the glass walls around it, adding to the amount of natural light that can filter through to the interior.
The oversized door also allows the interior spaces of the 974 square foot home to be opened to the patio for indoor/outdoor living. The patio, which is furnished with plants and an outdoor fire, is shaded by the cantilevered roofline that extends away from the house.
Here’s a closer look at the pivoting door, showing the metal frame, the glass, and the full height door handle.
Inside, the two-bedroom home includes an open plan living room, dining area, and kitchen, with the bedrooms on either side, and the bathroom tucked behind the kitchen.
Both the bedrooms as well as the bathroom are minimally furnished with black window frames, white walls, and polished concrete floors.
