Interior designer Pauline Lin has recently completed Faebrew, a modern coffee shop in Richmond, a suburb of Vancouver in British Columbia, Canada, that serves manual brew coffee.

As the business model of the coffee shop is craft coffee/bar style, Pauline was requested by her client to create a bar area that could seat eight to ten customers and to work with a limited budget. This resulted in Pauline creating a wood bar design that would allow the baristas to face and communicate with the customers as they prepared their drinks.
The service area has a grey engineered stone countertop, while adjustable pot lights have been installed in the suspended ceiling to define the work area and provide sufficient lighting. To the right of the service area is a wood shelving unit to display various decorative items.

On the wall opposite the service bar is a large artistic installation made from felt. Felt was used as it’s an effective material for sound insulation and it complements the other materials used in the overall design, like the polished concrete floor.
