In an attempt to solve the problem of weather dependent outdoor drying racks and the constantly broken clothes horses, New Zealand based design firm George and Willy created the Hanging Drying Rack – a rack that hangs from the ceiling to dry and air your clothes.
Attached to the ceiling by means of a simple pulley system, the rack uses rising hot air to creating an economical and environmentally friendly way of drying and airing clothes.
The pulley system allows you to bring it down to your level to easily fill it up with clothes. When the rack is full, pull it up and out of the way so your clothes can dry and your floor can stay clear.
Nine wooden dowels, an aluminum frame, yachting braid, and pulleys make the device sturdy enough to hold wet towels but give it a minimalist design that allows it to fit into any modern home.
