Sea Architecture have recently completed ORA, a small hostel in Bangkok, Thailand, that was once a shop and residential house.
The concept for the design of the hostel was to create a modern loft feeling with the use of multiple materials, such as wood, concrete and steel. The space is just over 13 feet (4m) wide, with a depth of 39 feet (12m), and it is 6 stories tall.

Inside, there’s a small reception area with a double-height wood accent wall. Further into the reception area, there’s multiple seating options for meeting friends.

On the first floor there’s a communal lounge and dining area set up with bean bags and benches. The lounge also looks over the reception area below.

Concrete stairs with steel and wood railings lead you up to the sleeping areas of the hostel.

Upstairs, there’s multiple different sleeping options. There are pod beds, where each person has their own bed, with a curtain for privacy. Sliding doors allow you to easily chat to the person next to you.

Other multi-bed rooms are set up in a bunk bed arrangement, with each bunk having their own curtain and reading lamp.

For a bit more privacy, there’s a selection of private rooms with a simple arrangement of single beds, ideal for friends travelling together.

And for even more privacy and if you happen to be travelling as couple, there are a few rooms set up for this.

Here’s an example of another one of the private rooms, this one has a wood accent wall behind the bed that matches the other wood details in the room.

The bathrooms can be found on each floor and they are minimal in their design, with wood doors and concrete walls.

On the top floor of the hostel is another communal space, however this one has views of downtown Bangkok.
