Let start at the beginning…this is Liz and Mark, the inventors of tweexy. Two years ago, they wanted to create something that didn’t already exist, but was something that women would use, and was in the world of beauty and makeup.
Discovering that 71% of women use nail polish, they interviewed a lot of them, and found out they all had problems with holding the bottle, dealing with spills, smearing the polish when reaching for the bottle, etc…
This got them thinking about what they could create to make holding a nail polish bottle easier. They collected 250 different nail polish bottle designs, and with the help of their designer, David Block of Studio Redeye, they measured them all.
By measuring all of the bottles, this gave them an idea of the perfect size and shape for a nail polish bottle holder. Here are some of the prototypes they designed and tested.
The end result was tweexy, a one-piece cast silicone form, that fits between your fingers, kind of like the childhood candy Ring Pop.
The polish bottle is then inserted into the ‘crown’, and then you place it over your ring fingers, instantly making it easier to start applying your nail polish.
You’re able to open your polish with one hand, simply by applying downward pressure on the bottle while twisting the cap.
tweexy also has two wings that have been built into the form that pull open the ring fingers, making it easier to move it from hand to hand with wet nails.
